Really excited for SXSW this year! There is lots going on and I can’t wait to share my new music with everyone during this amazing week of music! Funny, I can’t believe it’s been a year already since last SXSW. As I look back on this past year, I can say that is has been quite a journey from the experience last year. This year I feel a little more confident as a song writer and feel more ready to be performing during this exciting week. I will be sharing songs from my new EP that I just finished with collaborations with incredible songwriters Adam McInnis, Lance Kotara, Mara Shultz, and Rebecca Fenby. Also, with production by an amazing talent Mario Marchetti (producer of Pop star Jojo’s new hit single Disaster) Just being able to work with such talented people and watch things grow and progress has been a very incredible experience. These new songs are very deep and personal of my life experience that I think a lot of women especially can relate to. It has been an extremely challenging and yet gratifying year and these shows I will be doing during SXSW kind of mark a time for me to express through song what it’s been all about and my chance to share with all of you! God bless!
Happy New Year to everyone!!!!!!
I can’t believe it’s 2012 already can you? This is going to be a great year full of new opportunities with new doors opening and pre-existing ones leading to another level! 2011 was very difficult for me in just getting clear focus on what direction and path I wanted to go artistically and now I feel like through prayer and time and experience, I am now more centered, I have vision and direction. One of my favorite verses in the bible is “without a vision, the people perish” so I have found myself really asking God to give me clear vision on my path and purpose as a woman and in music. And so let the new year begin….!
To start off the new year, I am very excited to announce that my song “Hurt” is coming out in a new Television series this month in January called “Brooklyn Crew” airing on Oxygen Network. I have had my music video for Hurt air on CBS/ABC network Z Nation here in Austin. And I had the priviledge of getting a VIP audition for America’s Got Talent which I just went on a couple days ago. However, I won’t hear anything for another couple months and will definitely keep everyone updated on that.
I will be going out to LA in February for Grammy week for meetings and performances promoting and networking my new EP that is in the process of getting mixed and mastered and packaged right now as we speak! And I will be performing at SXSW here in Austin in March which I will also keep everyone up to date on.
Right now, my goal is that everyone who hears my new music, along with ALL the music I put out, will be effected by it in heart and soul. I had to go to some very difficult dark places from my past to write the lyrics to these songs and to also capture the emotion and depth in my vocal recordings. I hope to bring hope and healing to everyone who has been through the same experiences I’ve been through in life and encourage that there is restoration and blessings that come from it all! Thank you for all your support and encouragement as I continue to try and remain pure in spirit and music by keeping it real, honest and true to myself and God and all of you! I am an open book and will continue to be, if I can make some kind of positive change in this world. God bless.
